KC Water Heater was started in 2013 when owner Chase Thompson, who had previously focused on all types of plumbing, decided it was time to specialize. Chase had already been in the plumbing industry working on remodels for about 6 years.
“I had 2 employees and was really quite stressed. I wasn’t much of a fan of working with sewage, so I decided to take a domain I had bought and turn it into a company. More than anything, having a small niche has significantly reduced the stress in my life. The truck is always ready to go with not only water heaters but replacement vent pipe, lots of copper and fittings, expansion tanks, regulators, and all the hard to find parts to keep from running to the supply house each day.” - Chase Thompson, Owner
In 2015 Chase created Water Heater Database (http://WaterHeaterDB.com), a platform that consists of a mobile app, website, and Wordpress plugin designed to generate more content to end users. The app allowed Chase to establish himself as a subject matter expert and has increased the online reputation of KC Water Heater.
Marketing is a huge part of staying busy at KC Water Heater. Once a water heater has been installed, it could last 20 years or more without needing any real service. This means we are always generating new customers to serve. Building KC Water Heater's website and answering any question that arises became a focus for Chase.
